However, our worlds are not completely filled with gumdrops and sunshine. We live in our own individual bubbles of responsibility and crumbling uncertainty. We have bills to pay, homes to keep neat, gas tanks to fill, and children for which to care.

Adulthood in practice is quite different from adulthood in theory. Somewhat slighted by its practice, I choose to make plush toys for others that may feel the same way. Yes, we now have our own responsibilities, but is that not reason enough to feel free to play with toys and watch cartoons? Adulthood should not demand the death of
humor, curiosity, or creativity. We owe it to ourselves to take a few moments out of our day to play. I am convinced that if we did so, the world would be a much healthier place.

If I can make the average grown-up's eyes light up with a touch of childlike happiness and excitement, then I know I've done my job. I've made the world a little bit happier.
