Thank you so much for coming to visit Glitterbug Originals! :-)

Hi! My name is Cherie Smith and I am a jewelry designer living in Southeast Missouri. My SRAJD (self-representing artist/jewelry designer) number is 0631.

I've been collecting jewelry for almost as long as I can remember, so it seemed a natural thing to begin making the kind of jewelry that I love to wear myself. I've been selling on eBay for over 11 years, and when someone told me about Etsy about 4 years ago I took a look around and decided that it was absolutely a place I wanted to be. I hope you'll enjoy wearing my jewelry as much as I've enjoyed creating it! :-)

I really enjoy making my jewelry and want you to love your purchases. Each piece is…

Each piece is lovingly made by me with great care and attention to color, proportion, symmetry, and most of all, beauty. 99.9% of my things are made with lampwork beads, which I complement with Swarovski crystals and pearls, Czech glass, genuine precious and semi-precious gemstones, etc. I carefully hand-pick my beads from only the best, most well-respected glass artists, and very often have them custom-made just for me and my customers. I am happy to adjust lengths, and custom orders are always welcome; if you see an item in my store that you like, but would like it BETTER if it were put together in a different way, I'll be happy to accomodate! And I have LOTS of beads here, so if you like my "style" but don't see a particular color you'd like, I may have just what you need--just let me know and I'll be glad to put something together for you. Also, I will be happy to gift wrap at no extra charge, and also ship directly to the recipient if your purchase is to be a gift.

I try to keep my shipping costs as reasonable as possible: US rates are $3 for the first pair of earrings, and any others you purchase to be shipped at the same time/place ride along for no extra charge. International rates vary by country; just email me to ask and I'll get back to you asap. If you'd like to upgrade the sterling silver French hooks to sterling lever backs, I can do that for $2 per pair.

Again, thanks for coming--I really appreciate your consideration of my designs! I hope you're having a safe and happy winter season. Please come back often--I try to add new pieces daily.

Cherie :-)

Hey, someone emailed the cutest joke to me...since it indirectly deals with selling handmade crafts, I'll post it here. :-)

A man and woman had been married for more than 60 years. They'd
Shared everything: they'd talked about everything, they'd kept no secrets from each other except that the little old woman had a shoe
box in the top of her closet that she'd cautioned her husband never to open or ask her about.

For all of those years he'd never thought about the box, but one day the little old woman got very sick and the doctor said she would not
recover.

In trying to sort out their affairs the little old man took down the shoe box and brought it to his wife's bedside.

She agreed that it was time that he should know what was in the box.
When he opened it, he found two crocheted dolls and a stack of money totaling $95,000.

He asked her about the contents. 'When we were to be married,' she
said, 'my grandmother told me the secret to a happy marriage was to never argue.
She told me that if I ever got angry with you, I should just keep quiet and crochet a doll.'

The little old man was so moved; he had to fight back tears. Only two precious dolls were in the box. She had only been angry with him two
times in all those years of living and loving. He almost burst with happiness.

'Honey,' he said, 'that explains the doll, but what about all of this money?
Where did it come from?'

'Oh,' she said, 'that's the money I made from selling the dolls.'

A Prayer.......

Dear Lord, I pray for Wisdom to understand my man;
Love to forgive him;
And Patience for his moods;
Because Lord, if I pray for Strength,
I'll beat him to death, because I don't know how to crochet.
