Diane Valaitis' Profile

About

Hi there. My name is Diane Valaitis and I've always been a big fan of Peter Pan, hence, Gotta Crow Studio from the song "I've Gotta Crow" by Carolyn Leigh. I'm really just one of those kids who never grew up. Those lyrics have been inspiration to me from childhood into my adult years; teaching me to believe in myself and be thankful for my own special qualities and talents. We are all incredibly special from our own unique shadow to our unlimited thoughts and ideas.

Creating my art makes me happy and I really just "Gotta Crow" about it.

My Botanical / Insect Art Tiles feature beautiful textures found in nature from flowers, leaves, fungi or bark, sculpted in white polymer clay. Each one is then adorned by one or more colorful insects. Their designs are intricate patterns of polymer clay and they take center stage of each piece as their color pops from the white background.

Dress up your screened porch or any window screen with one of my Bug Screen Ornaments. They're whimsical, colorful and will certainly be noticed. They are all handmade using polymer clay, wire and beads. Some are whimsical and others look close to the real thing.

Lost your eyeglasses again? You need an eyeglass chain but one that's funky, fun, youthful... each bead is handmade using polymer clay. Crazy, colorful designs sliced from a polymer clay cane. Not your typical string of beads.

A polymer clay cane is a long cylinder of clay that has a design running through it. It can then be sliced to display that design again and again. It begins as a rather thick log but after rolling and stretching, it reduces to any size you desire. Google "polymer clay cane" and check out the many interesting videos you can find.
