My love of vintage and retro over new started when I was a little girl. When I visited my great-grandmother she always took a special bit of time and would bring me to her vanity where she kept knick knacks, jewelry, and ephemera from her life. I remember sitting on the long, elegant vanity bench with her and seeing a picture of her as a Gibson girl (she was gorgeous!). In the picture she had a brooch at her neck and I told her how pretty I thought it was. She opened a box, brought out that very brooch and pinned it on my Sunday dress. She then told me the story of the brooch and gave it to me. I've been in love with vintage and retro from that moment and I miss my great-grandmother even to this day.
Seattle is the closest larger city to me, but I actually live about 240 miles east on the east slopes of the Northern Cascade mountain range. There are great resources here and I…
