Creating things has been a part of my life since childhood. My early efforts were often solutions to a school project or home repair need. But always, I tended to use materials in an unconventional way to solve the problem at hand. Many years later, I still tend to create as a problem-solving venture or as a new way to use an interesting material. It is the challenge that drives me, but practicality does not preclude beauty. I strive always to work with thoroughness, precision, and an eye to the good appearance of the finished product. Whether it be sanding a beautiful piece of hardwood to silken smoothness, writing a meticulously crafted verse, or sewing a fine seam, for me, much of art is in the execution.
