In 1991 I graduated from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, having achieved a BFA in painting and sculpture, with an emphasis on mixed media assemblage. As part of my training, in 1989 I lived in New York City, studying under the Alliance of Independent Colleges of Art- New York Studio Program.
My relationship with clay began in 1995 when I made a few tiles as Christmas presents and was irrevocably smitten! A full time clay artist since 1997, my public works include ceramic tile murals for the National Amphibian Conservation Center and the Arctic Ring of Life, both located at the Detroit Zoo. My most recent public work is "Small Worlds" a ceramic mural at Childrens Hospital of Michigan, completed in 2010.
I currently moonlight as wife and mother, doing my best to mold two little girls who are far less pliable than clay!
