About

I'm the proud work at home mama of an inquisitive 4 year old born in April of 2010 and the sweetest 2 year old born in July of 2012. We are expecting our third in early November of this year. My husband and I have made our home in the foothills of Boise, ID.
I'm one of those people that just can't sit still. If I'm not stitching, throwing clay, painting, knitting, reading or crafting I am out in the woods with my beautiful boys and fabulous husband.
I loved my job as an elementary school teacher for the past 7 years, but am thrilled to be a stay at home mom with my son now! From the time I was very small taking care of our planet has been of utmost importance to me. In third grade I was known for my “Don’t Buy Ice Cream, Save The Manatees” campaign. In middle school I started and ran an Environmental Club at our school. In High School I began actively volunteering. Most recently I was known as a founding member of a prairie dog relocation group. This value system has influenced who I am as a mother as well. I watched my sweet baby chewing on his sleeve and thought to myself “where did that sleeve come from and what chemicals were used to make it?” Since I couldn’t answer those questions I set to work making him items that I could count on. He is now 2 and I have a bit more free time on my hands so I have begun making items to sell as well. I have an Etsy shop under the name engelpottery where I have been selling my wheel-thrown pottery and Sunny Soles handmade shoes ( http://www.etsy.com/shop/engelpottery ). I have now created this shop as a place to share my organic and original creations.
