About

My passion for beading began in 2005 when I started making prayer beads for the Twelve Step community. You can read more about that part of me here... http://www.twelvebeads.com/About_Gwen_R.html

I was a fashion marketing student at the Art Institute of Philadelphia and graduated with honors, won awards for best senior project, best window displays and was featured in Who's Who among Americas Junior Colleges. While in school I did a short stint of freelance window displays. I then went on to the wonderful world of cosmetics in Lord & Taylor. I started with a very high end line called Stendhal then moved into Chanel. I left Lord & Taylor to have my one and only child. I eased back to work part time in men's fragrance. While in school I did a short stint of freelance window displays. I then went on to the wonderful world of cosmetics in Lord & Taylor. From there I jumped into management and then moved into a position with Liz Claiborne as a Style Edge coordinator. I was responsible for 5 stores (Macy's and Lord & Taylor) and my lines were DKNY, DKNY Collection, DKNY Jeans and Kenneth Cole.

As my husbands career progressed the demands on his life became more and I eventually stepped out of my position. There was once again that creative emptiness.

Today I have a passion that allows me to be available as a mother and pursue all that I have learned through schooling, experience and life. I am forever hungry to learn and push my projects further. The ultimate goal is to create my own line of sterling silver spiritual pendants that will be incorporated into my pieces. I will continue to take classes and remain teachable in my craft.

I am a self taught webster and built my first sight with endless revisions in 2005. TwelveBeads PrayHard featuring Twelve Step prayer beads and recovery jewelry.

I then added a second site to reach outside of the recovery community and be of service to all those seeking some spiritual symbolism~
