I can't tell you I've been knitting since I was a child. I learned it from my grandmother when I was 20. It took hours for me to understand the making of a single stitch! But then knitting became a habit for me when I was studying. I could do no readings when my hands were free, thus I started knitting blankets as presents for friends. In knitting my greatest inspiration is my mother's knits and handmade dolls and figures (seen her shop? knitdjin.etsy.com ) in addition to some traditional patterns in fabrics and tiles in Turkey. but, probably because I'm not as mature as my mother, I can't resist shiny stuff and like a magpie I tend to put something shiny into everything I knit for myself. But don't worry I've learned that not everybody likes that much of glamor and I think I do produce stuff with a plain elegance when I knit for others.
