About

I was born and raised in the hills of Darjeeling India, the land famous for its tea. Love led me to the other side of this planet to a place called Rochester, NY where I now I live with my wife and two kids, happy in the extraordinary warmth of the people here.

Being from a place that has the repute of making the "champagne of teas," I was lucky to learn the art of tea growing up. Even while working primarily as a journalist, I ran an online store for Darjeeling tea to share my passion for quality, premium tea.

I am excited about Etsy and to be part of a community where my love of tea finds both commercial and aesthetic appreciation. Because tea is not just any other product.

If you start spending some time regularly with tea, you will soon find out that this beverage, second only to water in the volume of consumption, has a philosophic and artistic depth.

Aside from tea I also offer a herbal line of blends. Although very different in taste than tea the rituals of these two kinds of beverages are pretty similar. Here again I have tapped into my real life experience for inspiration: my maternal grandfather used to a herbalist and my father a forester who had great regard for plants and their strength to heal us. I am hardly any close to the level of knowledge these two men had; they are but my guiding lights for now.

ORGANIC CERTIFIED: All our teas and herbs come from sources and tea gardens that are organic certified. I believe there can be no longer any debate about climate change, et al. Aside from the health implications, organic farming is more sustainable for the bio-diversity and we take this message seriously.

I do my best to adopt eco-friendly practices in the business. Most of our packaging material are compostable. The labels we use on our products are made out of recycled paper. And the tea bags are free of dioxins and glue.

I am here not just to sell tea but also make friends while exploring together this wonderful world of tea. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have regarding our products or tea in general.
