Hazel Fisher's Profile

About

I am an artist and illustrator from Colchester, Essex in England. Ever since I could first pick up a pencil I have always loved to draw and make things. Since graduating from university after studying for a BA (Hons) in Illustration in 2008 I have been able to work in my dream job as an artist!

I love to be creative in everything I do - whether it is illustrating my imagined town Hexley, making handmade greetings cards, sewing, crocheting...
In this, my art shop, I sell original artwork along with other items such as prints, bookmarks, notecards and stickers made from my art. I also have a supplies shop www.hfcsupplies.etsy.com where I sell new, vintage and handmade craft supplies which will hopefully inspire the crafty person!

*♥* About my paintings and prints...

My paintings are mostly made in watercolours, Quink (ink), pen and pencil and range in subject from pet portraits to creating a whole imaginary town. I have found ACEOs (‘Art Cards, Editions and Originals’) to be a fun way to practise painting and being small (2.5x3.5 inches - the size of a trading card) they are also great for collecting!

I began to develop the town of Hexley in January 2008 and it has stayed with me ever since! The town of Hexley and the surrounding area is a centre for learning and discovery, set in the late Victorian era it is from a past that never was...
My illustrations of Hexley combine my fasination with the past (particularly the Victorian and Edwardian eras) and a love of designing whimsical steampunk inspired inventions.
I continue to make new illustrations based on Hexley, to find out more about the town and see new work please take a look at my blog:
