About

Growing up in Idaho, my love of the outdoors preceded my love of photography, which started as a by-product of spending so much time in my garden. I’ve always enjoyed the quiet, serene nature of gardening and love the fact that you can cultivate something beautiful from a simple seed. When I wasn’t in the garden, I was thinking about what I was going to plant next. This has been the nourishment that has inspired my growing passion for photography.

Over the years the marriage of these two passion have turned into my beloved profession. The simplicity and imperfection of natural and organic materials and images influence the jewelry I make and the photographs I take. These days, time behind the camera is where I am the happiest and most gratified. I have a ravenous appetite for learning and seeing things in a new way. And since Photography provides life-long learning, my work will continue to evolve and change. I have always photographed things that make me think, stop and pause. I want my photographs to provide a sense of awe and wonder and I hope that they make the viewer think, stop and pause, if only for a moment. This crazy, cluttered world we live in needs more pause!

My jewelry and photography continue to reflect that which got me started in the first place, my garden. Every day I am inspired to grab a camera and shoot something rather ordinary in an extraordinary way. I hope that my work inspires others to do something that they are passionate about – be it photography, art, writing, making jewelry, gardening…
