i am drawn to things of old, history itself but also the textiles and amazing craftmanship that was put into everything. even the simple hinge on a door frame was created with whimsy and detail - altough rarely seen. people had pride in their work and i embrace this lost character in the objects made today. i am an artisan at heart. i can't tear myself away from the finest antique linen shop to the metal junkyard. i started sewing at age 6 or so, as my mom would not make clothes for my tiny dolls! she is a wonderful seamstress amd taught me. mostly these days i make home decor items from old bits and pieces of all sorts of textiles.(and beads and buttons and objects 'd art...) i still like to create jewelery too but want to learn silver smithing. i have lots of designs in my mind waiting to come out and be real.
i have never seen so many incredible artists in a wide array of mediums as there is on etsy. i love to read, look, soak it in for hrs and hrs. so much to learn from the minds and ideas of the artists here. it is awesome!!!
so i have decided to venture into a little sales with my textile and creations. (that was 5 years ago!) finally i will be listing and selling by November... i hope you will find something to tickle your fancy that will find its place in your home and be well loved. please check from time to time as i will list but a few each time. i may also list pretty little items i have had in my home and enjoyed but am now passing on for others to enjoy. hand painted pieces or perhaps vintage jewelry or a wonderful book. my taste is eclectic (very much so!) and so will my items be. i can only hope to be as incredible with my creations as so many others i see on etsy. thanks for taking the time to read this.
the world is at the fingertips of us all. isn't that wonderful ~
