Keith Andrew's Profile
Keith Andrew RCA (Royal Cambrian Academy) was born in London and studied at Beckenham School of Art and Ravensbourne College of Art and Design, Bromley, Kent . He worked in London as a graphic artist for eight years before turning to painting full time in 1975. This coincided with moving to Anglesey, North Wales.
A Traditional View - In 1975 I saw a small exhibition in Blackheath, London which planted the seed of my inspiration, and it is still growing.
It was an exhibition of eighteenth century watercolours including works by Samuel Palmer, David Cox, Turner and particularly John Varley. The show made a lasting impression on me. From that moment I studied their eighteenth century technique and formulated my contemporary vision.
