About us
Robb and I (Bette) were down in Amish country In 2008, in Southern Ohio. We visited a garden center and I became enamored of some beautiful container Fairy Gardens. Sixty some dollars later, we emerged with a plethora of small, fairy-size plants, accessories and a small iron fairy. And that was the real start of HiddenWorlds. Digging in the dirt, constructing a small world in the flower bed and seeing the delight on young and older faces when they visited the garden, made me think, “What next?”

That’s when we came up with the idea to design a couple fairy doors, first to go in our own garden and second, to see if there would be others interested in buying them. Yes there was. "What next", came to be about a year later. Robb, a sculptor for a toy company, was laid off; his work out-sourced to China. That’s when we came up with the idea to design a couple fairy doors, first to go in our own garden and second, to see if there would be others interested in buying them. Yes there was. From that time, we have added more things to our line and have a list of more than a dozen more to work on.
Robb and I met in art school more than forty years ago and have worked on projects together ever since. We take pride in what we make. We value imagination and fun and this is one of the most fun things we’ve collaborated on. We share the design credits, though some are more him and some are more me. Robb is the sculptor. He sculpts, makes his own molds and does all the casting himself. The door then moves to me and I paint and finish each piece. There is no mass production; each item is made by us.
We hope you enjoy what we make. We hope you will let your creative-self find joy as you find different ways to use our creations.
