About

My earliest memories seem to be related to doing arts and crafts. I remember mom taking me to an art class before I was old enough to go to school, and it made me so happy to sit at the little table drawing and painting and cutting and pasting. My favorite area of any store was always where they had the art supplies, and my favorite time of year was the beginning of school because I always got a new box of crayons.

I didn’t really discover my passion, though, until I discovered beads. I walked into my first bead store and spent the next couple hours just saying “ooh!” and “wow!” and “oh my goodness, look at these!” to my friend who had come in with me. She wasn’t all that excited, but I bought a book of patterns, some glass beads, some bead thread, and some tools, and went home to get started. I haven’t stopped making jewelry since.

These gorgeous beads just keep calling out to me, begging to be made into… a bracelet… a necklace… another pair of beautiful earrings…. I keep telling myself that I won’t buy any more beads until I finish all the projects I’ve already started at home, but the next thing I know I’m walking into “Hobby Lobby” and down the bead aisle – just to take a look. Before I know it I just have to have that yummy string of amethyst glass beads that will go just perfectly with those deep purple opaque rainbow seed beads I have in my stash at home. Ooh, and what about that really cool tiny brass bird that would look so great with that steampunk style necklace I’m working on.

See what I mean? I’m out of control!

Since I don’t see myself entering “bead rehab” anytime soon, I need to find a way to support my “habit”. So that’s why I’ve decided to share with others through my etsy store.

Every item is handmade by me, bead by bead, in my home in Kalamazoo, Michigan. I hope you find something you love!
