About

Since I can remember, I've wanted to create -- draw, paint, sew, glue, bedazzle, write -- it's just what moves me and makes me ME.

I'm a single mom with three amazing kids. Ian is 10, Sophie is 6, and Emmie is 1. They drive me crazy and make me better, make messes and give me more love than anything in the whole world.

After a traumatic divorce, I felt the need to reinvent myself. Art and design are such a part of me, but I knew I needed to move in a different direction. Through my ordeals, I found comfort in words... reading and writing them. I found myself writing out quotes and sticking them around my apartment for inspiration.

From there came the idea to take these quotes and make them beautiful pieces of art, and Honeysuckle was born.

Why Honeysuckle? One of the most precious memories I have, during the times when things were just plain bad on a daily basis, is the walks I would take with my two older kids. We needed a break, fresh air, peace and a moment to relax. We'd walk through our old neighborhood, and one summer day I smelled the honeysuckle, then saw it blooming in profusion right by the road. That day I taught my kids the wonder of picking off the velvety blossom, enjoying the tiny drop of sweet nectar. They were awestruck by it, and "taking a walk" became "eating honeysuckle" for the rest of that summer.

The word honeysuckle now evokes peace and love in the midst of pain and chaos for me, and that's the inspiration for my art... you know, life is good. Take a moment, a deep breath, and reflect on the beautiful things you have in your life. Have hope for even more to come.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Jeremiah 29:11
