About

Thank you for looking at my Etsy store. I am a multimedia artist and total craftaholic.

I’ve always made things since I was a young child, partially self taught, partially classically trained. My grandmothers taught me to crochet and embroider when I was 9, I learned to weave on a floor loom at 12, and I’ve never stopped learning about new techniques and materials. I received my Bachelors degree in fine arts in 2000, focusing on craft (fibers and fine metals). After college, I took up painting with acrylics. I delight in giving old things a new purpose and using things that would otherwise end up in the trash.

I opened my first crafting business when I was about 6, selling personalized stationary sets. It was your typical door-to-door sales (typical for a 6 year old!), taking orders from neighbors and promising delivery within the week. Brown paper…

Brown paper bags from the kitchen were hand rubber stamped and filled with typewriter paper (long time ago) and envelopes with coordinating stamped images. It was not the million-dollar idea I had hoped for but it was a lot of fun.

So, I have now come to the point in my life where I realize this is what I need to be doing to earn my living. Like so many of us, what was obvious to the young child was stifled and put to the side by grown-up thinking. I feel so fortunate for the opportunity to share my work with so many viewers and blessed for each visitor that comes into my store. Please let me know if there is something you desire that you do not see in my store. I just might be able to create it especially for you! Best of luck to all shopkeepers out there and happy hunting to the buyers!

A honeysuckle kiss to you all ~ Kirsten
