Paul Rogers' Profile

About

I’ve been interested in art from childhood and have always love making things. Over the years I have experimented with photography, woodworking and metalworking. My wife Cheryl and I keep horses and I was always disappointed that the horses shoes get thrown away after being worn only two months. After a while I started making utilitarian items from the shoes, hooks to hang horse tack, ropes, hats coats, rakes and shovels. I hung them up all over the barn, workshop, house and started giving them away to friends. Then I started making decorative items with the shoes. Soon, the shoes from our horses were not enough so I asked our farrier to drop off the shoes from his other customers. With the downturn in the economy, my full time employment turned into a part time job about a year ago, which freed up a lot of time to seriously work on and improve my metal sculpting skills.
