About

My grandmother taught me to sew by hand with a needle and thread when I was 6 years old. I remember cutting out a square piece of fabric and folding, cutting, and then sewing it into a pair of pants for my naked plastic cupie doll. It had no hem or waistband and I could barely squeeze it onto the dolls legs but my grandmother must have seen some talent in there because she never held me back in my sewing attempts. By eight years old I was making barbie doll clothes from sewing patterns (mainly using the pictures and diagrams). She taught me to sew on the machine when I was nine (Yelling from the other room, "Slow down!").

All the women in my family know how to sew and are artists in many ways, but I am the only one who is PASHIONATE about fabrics and sewing. :)

Like my grandmother and my mom before me, I have held various jobs throughout my life…

Like my grandmother and my mom before me, I have held various jobs throughout my life. Many times our jobs were traditionally men's jobs (grandmother - pilot, mom - police officer in the mid seventies, me - Paramedic & volunteer firefighter, fraud investigator).

I have also worked in office settings with the state of Texas and the city of Austin, Texas.

But I have always been happiest when I sitting amidst piles of fabrics, thread, beads, glitter, and thread! It can get messy!

I have a second shop where I sell beautiful ribbon and bridal accessories.
