I've spent my entire life in the antique and vintage business. From the time I was a little girl of 7 years old and my dad would wake me at 3 am in the morning to get me to help him load the van and we would drive to the swap meet and sell vintage items (quality items, not junk).

My parents went on to open their own antique shop. All 6 of us kids were required to work, and I learned everything I know from those days. My parents would place ads in the local paper looking for antiques for sale (this was in the 70s & 80s). They would spend their nights on buying trips and in the morning when we awoke many times our entire house would be covered completely in furniture, dolls, pottery, vintage dresses, you name it, whatever they bought the night before.

One night a couple came to our house to buy some antique dolls. I overheard my parents reading a "price guide" and my dad said "Wow! do you see how much Emmett Kelly dolls are valued at!" I knew then my Emmett Kelly doll was in danger. I grabbed him, ran to my bed and intertwined my fingers tightly around his neck. I fell asleep clutching my Emmett doll. Well,................you know how this is going to end, don't you. Yes, when I woke up for school the next morning my Emmett Kelly doll was gone :((( My parents pried him out of my fingers while I slept and sold him in the dead of the night!

This is just one example of the crazy, kooky, and many times hilarious events in my life that have led me to where I am. On several occasions I have tried to escape my fate, but once vintage gets in your blood you can never leave. Therefore, I have named my shop (and my motto for life) I BLAME MY PARENTS!

Please enjoy!
