Claudette Langlais' Profile

About

Art and crafting have been part of my life since childhood (and that was a long time ago). I have worked in many mediums - oil, acrylic and watercolor painting, wood carving, sculpture, digital art and dollmaking to name some.

For a while, I crafted jewelry, making floral pendants and pins to sell at craft fairs. Later, I became interested in dollmaking which I still love to do. Dollmaking challenges an artist in many ways, as a sculptor, a painter, a seamstress, a hair stylist, and so on.

Then my granddaughters became the proud owners of American Girl dolls. Now we needed to create food for their tea parties and doll get-togethers. Cakes, pies, brownies etc. etc. were the hit of the day. I offer many of these for sale. And now miniature food is being added to my list…

And now miniature food is being added to my list.

At the same time, I am devoting more and more time to watercolor painting, taking classes to finesse my skills. I truly enjoy this type of painting striving to achieve soft and interesting paintings. Prints of my paintings will be offered for sale, along with miniatures for the dollhouse enthusiast. Miniature watercolor painting is my "right now" favorite. That could change as it often does with me.

I am in my 60s and have lived in New England all of my life. I have two wonderful daughters, both married to great men and four grandchildren - three girls and a boy, ages 12, 10, 9 and 7. I still work in a law office where I have been for 33 years, although more part time these days giving me more time to do my "thing".

And so the name "Imagin-It". Because I tend to drift from one area of arts and crafts to another, I tried to come up with a name that would be appropriate for everything I might decide to sell. I hope you enjoy my offerings. Please contact me with any special requests and I will try to accommodate you.
