About

Introduction:

My name's Lucy and I am a talker. That's why photography is such a wonderful medium to explore; it says so much with just one shot.

I have another newish Etsy store for digital collages, mixed media and other photographic art. If you're looking for more vibrant photo art, visit Beauticious: https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/Beauticious

I used to say in my introduction that I love to create. Being on Etsy, that seems a little redundant. After all, this is a collective of diverse people who share that same passion.

I used to say in my introduction that I love to create. Being on Etsy, that seems a little redundant. After all, this is a collective of diverse people who share that same passion.

One of my earliest memories was at Montessori school when I was two, contentedly making paper chains from multi-coloured construction paper. It seemed so crucial to me that all the colours be represented and all my loops look perfect. My hands were smeared with dried white glue and coloured fibre from the paper and I was completely happy. That moment seems to be illustrative of the joy I've discovered so easily whenever I have the chance to make something.

Too often, judgement rears its ugly head when people delve into creativity. I hope for a day when we can embrace what moves from us as the perfect expression that it is. I've learned that most often, we are all our own fiercest critics.

I bought my first camera when I was 6. It took me almost 7 months to save up my allowance - I was motivated! When I'm behind a camera, it's like time stands still. I'm standing there, contorting for the best angle, holding my breath and waiting for a slice of the present to be preserved.

I love photography because of its immediacy but also how it propels us all into the role of the voyeur. I spy something with my little eye and allow you to see what captivated me. Very intimate and personal. You've seen my life through my eyes.

And that's why I love it. I hope you love it too!
