Peggy's Profile

About

Hi, my name is Peggy Meiske and my passion is fused glass. I am a self-taught fused glass artist, specializing in jewelry. All of my jewelry is handcrafted individually, with attention to detail. I use several styles and techniques, so there is always something fresh and new in my collection. I love bright, vibrant colorful designs, so my Shop is filled with them.

I started working with fused glass in 2005 after my wonderful husband purchased a fusing start-up kit and I haven't look back since.

My absolute favorite moment in the fused glass process is when I open the kiln after a firing to discover all the "treasures" within. Working with dichroic glass means you never really know how things will turn out because of the color shifting trait of the glass.

I live in the Texas Hill Country with my husband and best friend, Stephen. My inspiration comes from the beauty that God provides here in the wildlife and natural beauty of the surrounding hills.

PLEASE NOTE: I take all my photos outdoors in bright sunlight. This process gives my pieces true to life color and vibrancy. All of my jewelry is as bright and colorful as the photos depict, but photos cannot capture the true beauty of the shimmer and shine of dichroic glass, so in-hand, my jewelry is even more beautiful.

I hope you enjoy looking at my creations and know that I appreciate the time you take to visit my Shop.
