About

Hi! My name is Abby. I went to university to study English, because I like books, then traveled outside of America to work as an English teacher, in part because I like change, new things, and interesting cultures. I met my sweetheart and started my family overseas. Since heading back west, both my own little one and seeing how other cultures raise children have been much of the inspiration behind InyaWraps.

Having my little girl started my quest for the perfect baby carrier and eventually led me to produce my own. I love my carriers so much I want to share them with others!

What’s in a name? I wanted a business name that sounded like the product I’m offering and fit the overall image of both my stuff and myself. My daughter’s babbling produced the sound “inya" one day and I was so thrilled with the combination of sounds she made that my excitement got her doing it all the time. It sounded cool and multicultural, kind of like my little family. So Inya it was!

InyaWraps produces wraparound baby carriers made from fairly traded, hand-loomed Himalayan textiles. The fabric weaving process is done by artisan, Himalayan weavers and each wrap is cut and finished by hand. Due to the hand-made nature of Inyas, small slubs and imperfections can be appreciated on each unique piece.

InyaWraps currently come in three sizes: short (2.7 meters), medium (3.6 meters), and long (4.6 meters). Extra short or long wraps can be purchased on a custom basis. Please see policies page for more info.
