Ioni Dodson's Profile
At the age of 9, she was taught by her grandmothers to sew and crochet. Then her mother taught her how to knit with a pattern, after which she started making her own designs. Ioni has taught her son to sew, her daughter to knit, who is now selling her own creations. When my grandchildren come over she teaches them more tricks, stitches. Ioni teaches at Catheryn and Count Basie Middle School, and A.C. Moore Craft Store in Queens. Soon she will teach classes in Needlepoint and Embrodery.
Ioni retired from Human Resources Administration in NYC for 36 years. She started as a Fingerprint Technician and when HRA aquired computers way back when, She went for a demonstration and got hooked on word processing. She continued to teach myself on the job early in the morning and lunch hours too. Soon her friends on the job asked to be taught. Thats all she…
