About

To all of you who have sent their heartfelt condolences, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Losing my Mum, my companion dog, Julie, and then my Dad so close together has left me lost, heartbroken, and devastated. I sincerely appreciate the support, prayers, good vibes and feelings you have sent my way.

Hello, I am IrelandsOwn from Frederick, Maryland! I am not in the Atlantic Ocean as the map suggests I am. I live in the state of Maryland with the Commonwealth of Virginia to our south and the state of Pennsylvania to our north. The line that separates Pennsylvania and Maryland is commonly referred to as the Mason-Dixon Line. This, disputably, was the separation of the North and the South during the Civil War. I live approximately 25 miles south of the Mason-Dixon Line. OK enough of that!

The paragraph above was entered at the time I first joined Etsy. I was in a hurry and never came back to update my personal Bio. I had a comment about my Bio from a seller last night (very funny and positive) and here I am on February 23, 2010 trying to enter something that makes more sense. Does that make sense to you?

I am not a seller but by gosh I wish I were! I do not seem to have an ounce of artistic flare in my body ... what can I say. Maybe someday if I let my mind wander away I will find my flare. So here I am only a buyer and I if truth be told I only found Etsy in October 2009. I was completely stunned at the amount of artistic work all on one website. Where had I been?

Etsy is a little like the Olympics to me! Actually, the winter Olympics are taking place in Vancouver, British Columbia as I write this. Where else can you go and find all of the most successful athleticism in the entire world all in one place. I’ve been watching the Olympics since I could watch a television set (that just dated me didn’t it?) ;-D At Etsy, I have found an overwhelming creativity and happiness. I think it is because all of these talented people are doing what they love and do best. They all seem to be well aware that they are the fortunate ones and seem never to take that for granted. I have yet to meet a cranky Etsian. At Etsy I have met the most polite, honest, and sharing group of individuals ever. That is all I can write for today.
