Greetings!
Welcome to my shop.
I am a person who's mesmerized by color. That pretty much sums up what makes me 'tick', creatively. I have always been drawn to the arts and crafts that color and pattern figure most prominently; such as quilt making (I could live in a fabric store), basket weaving, dried floral design (it brings out the earth mother in me),etc. I work in a landcape nursery in my real job...again all the colors, textures, shapes to excite the imagination.
I have been making mosaic art for the past 4 years and I find that I am always (1) learning new techniques, (2) finding new ways to compose each piece of mosaic art and last, but not least, (3) I never stop enjoying the thrill of the hunt for that next piece of china! Greetings!
Welcome to my shop.

I have been making mosaic art for the past 4 years and I find that I am always (1) learning new techniques, (2) finding new ways to compose each piece of mosaic art and last, but not least, (3) I never stop enjoying the thrill of the hunt for that next piece of china! I really don't know which I enjoy more; the creative process of seeing a piece develop (even I have no idea how it will end up), or having to stop at every antique shop or flea market I come across. I love looking for vintage china. It's a passion of mine.
I do try to buy & use only china that's been chipped or somehow damaged so that I'm not breaking something that's still usable. Having said that, I'm a sucker for a beautiful plate and I've been known to buy one with the intention of breaking it, only to end up putting it into my china cabinet. My mother would be proud.
The materials I work with are primarily vintage china, some stained glass (so I can incorporate some colors not found in china), and a limited amount of non-vintage china...sometimes I just have to use it to get the look I'm after. I also enjoy combining vintage figurines with china mosaics, they just seem to go together so well!
I hope you like what you see, and if you are looking for something in particular, please email or convo me...you never know what I'm working on next!
