JK Dooley's Profile

About

My current projects revolve around creating fabric collage wall hangings featuring my paintings and/or vintage photos. To say my life has changed for the better since I moved to SD would be an understatement. I love to paint; vibrant colors and intricate details are the hallmark of my watercolors.

Drawn into the art world at an early age, I was inspired and encouraged by mom, who was also a water colorist, and daddy who truly believed I could do anything to which I set my mind.

Drawn into the art world at an early age, I was inspired and encouraged by mom, who was also a water colorist, and daddy who truly believed I could do anything to which I set my mind.

Having grown up in the era of John Wayne & Gunsmoke then moving to Arizona while in college, it is no wonder that the main body of my art reflects the ruggedness and colorful way of life that we associate with the Old West. I pursue my craft by attending rodeos and visiting ranches throughout the West, taking pictures and meeting great people who still work very hard, believe in God, love their country and each other. Their values and beliefs that brought people out West in the first place remain solid today.

Please enjoy viewing (and purchasing!) my art...I know you understand it is illegal to reproduce my paintings in any shape, manner or form without my written consent. Please don't steal my stuff!
