JReisPhotoDesign is an extension of the Photography business started about five years ago by Jacqueline Reis, (that would be me), a South African born Philadelphian. I use the term PhotoDesign, rather than Photography, for many reasons. Although I do love the medium of photography, I have a love and appreciation for a vast array of artistic practices and techniques. Whether it be building something in the wood shop, refinishing a piece of furniture, or creating delicate pieces of jewelry. I have always envisioned myself doing so much more than just snapping pictures.

Most of the work that I do for my photography business includes wedding and bar/bat mitzvah event photography and portraiture. Then I spend a good amount of time sitting in front of my computer: burning backup disks, getting images ready for printing, and sometimes replacing head’s and so on…

A few years ago, I started searching for and collecting a vast array of art supplies so I could explore my more creative side. I started making cut paper collages, jewelry, as well as chain maille, and much more. I am happy to now, have a venue to show these items, and all of my upcoming projects.
