Denise Goodale the owner of Jacmel Bay is also the mother of Gwenn Mangine who operates the Joy in Hope Children's Home in Jacmel, Haiti with her husband Nick. There are 12 children in Haiti who call Denise "Mommy Nana". The children take family walks on the shore of Jacmel Bay and help collect the sea glass for Jacmel Bay projects. Denise travels to Haiti at least twice a year where she also works with a group of deaf young adults teaching them the art of sea glass and helping them to earn a living selling their art. Twenty-five percent of all profits from Jacmel Bay sales is dontated to the ongoing work of Joy in Hope in Haiti.
