I have loved jewelry for as long as I can remember. As a child I would take any penny, nickle or dime and save them up to buy a little plastic ring from the nearby five and dime or chance my luck to get a ring from the gumball dispenser. I would twist paper clips in school to make rings and chain dandelions into bracelets and necklaces. Anything I could find would become a piece of jewelry if at all possible.
After a life-long journey of work, marriage, children and family, I like to see myself exploring the artistic side of my life. Aside from my other love, music, creating jewelry seemed the natural direction for me.
Last May, after 20 years of nursing, I decided to throw in the towel and chance my dream. I sold all of my gold to buy tools to make jewelry. I'll not forget my teenage son's comment; "But Mom, isn't that like selling your car to buy gas?"
