About

I am in the process of transferring my artwork from my first shop, http://www.etsy.com/shop/jmeArtandDesigns, into this one, http://www.etsy.com/shop/JaimeeTaborda .... I hope that you will take a look at both of my shops!

I joined Etsy back in January 2012 with my first shop having an eclectic mix of items.... I have decided that it is time to separate my artwork from my more utilitarian work and have thus opened this shop. In my new shop, you will find intaglio prints, original paintings and reproductions.

My other shop which includes a mix of unique handmade items such as infinity scarves, upcycled washer necklaces, flower hair accessories. You can check it out here:

I am an artist, high school art teacher, wife, and mother of two. I love how all of these different aspects of my life inspire and enrich each other.

I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Visual Art from Gordon College in 2000. For a while after graduating, I took a hiatus from making art. I needed to rediscover that my love for art was enough reason to make it.... I was disenchanted for a while, but I have come back and I have really enjoyed becoming reacquainted with my first love, creating art.

I look all over the place for inspiration. As an art teacher, I am constantly inspired by both my students and the research I do in preparation for lessons. I am inspired by patterns and colors. Nature is a constant place I return for inspiration. Everywhere I look, I see things that inspire my art-making. I have been taking graduate printmaking classes and I have really fallen in love with making prints.

Thanks for visiting my shop... I hope you love what you see.
