About

The Town of 1770 is where Captain Cook landed in, yes, 1770. The neighbouring area of Agnes Water was named after the ship that accompanied the expedition. Town of 1770 / Agnes Water is a stunningly beautiful area which has a laid-back lifestyle and is the most southern point of the Great Barrier Reef. It also has the most northern Point Break (surf beach) in Queensland, which also gives it a surfie culture. Add to all this the fact that it has a superb art culture and a fabulous temperature pretty much all year round and it's not hard to see why anyone lives in Town of 1770 / Agnes Water.
