Jennifer Obrochta's Profile

About

My art has always been inspired by both color and nature. The layers of color created by a sunset or the lush green of the grass after a summer rain, or the contrast of a bright blue sky against a wheat field have often led to a piece of jewelry, painting, or collage. From a young age I loved beautiful and bold jewelry, influenced by my strong-willed (and always adorned) grandmother. "Turquoise" was even one of my first words :). I have a genuine love for the materials I use, and have been known to nearly hyperventilate upon walking into a gem shop! My jewelry uses sterling silver, gold-fill, copper, and brass to beautifully offset semi-precious stones, vintage, and repurposed materials. Each item is carefully crafted, unique and one of a kind. I hope you find something you are fond of!

Also, you can check out my blog and what I am up to in the studio, kitchen and out…
