♥ LET’S TALK SHOP. . . ORIGINS & EVOLUTION ♥

Back in 2011, I originally started selling my sculpted creations on Etsy and at local craft shows as a way to work at home with my then toddler son while also attending UCF full-time online for a degree in English (literature and writing) Education. I have always loved all forms of art, and sculpting was a way for me to have work I loved doing while spending as much time with my rapidly growing son as I possibly could.

From 2011 - 2014, I absolutely loved working to build my business and relationships with customers from all over the world. Reading happy reviews, and communicating with return customers to create custom work for them, always instilled an amazing sense of fulfillment and confidence that my handmade work was enjoyed by others around the globe.

In 2014, I graduated with a B.S. from UCF to begin work as a secondary English Language Arts teacher. I soon realized I could not juggle the growing demand for my artwork with the demand of teaching teenagers reading and writing. I chose to shut down my sculpting business, and I regretted doing so for three years.

Fast forward three years. . . While teaching can have its own share of fulfillment, I found the frustration of the current educational system along with personal health concerns to be too great to continue teaching in the classroom. I also realized how often I thought back to when I was so happy creating beautiful, whimsical, even sometimes unusual pieces of wearable art for people to enjoy.

Now it’s 2017, and I am ecstatic to be jumping back into the colorful, creative world I have missed so much. I have new designs and playful color schemes I am excited to share. I’m also considering branching out into other mediums to explore color theory with different textures. A lot of plans and dreams are in store, and I am happy to find myself back where I feel creative and true to myself.

Thank you for reading.
