The pursuit of art as a life long career has taken me down many paths, one of which has led me to my present passion for vintage Japanese bas relief cabochon jewelry dating between 1920 - 1940. The originals were cast in an early organic plastic called celluloid which eventually crumbles to dust, along with the amazing designs of the master sculptors who are themselves, long gone.
It has been my goal for the last three years to collect and preserve as many as I can.
This shop was originally opened to sell reproduction cabochons to jewelry designers and many came to purchase and design with the handpainted pieces I listed. It was a particular delight to have several enthusiastic Japanese clients.
