Jo Ellen has been a professional artist and teacher for forty years. She is an outreach teacher for the Houston Museum of Fine Arts having recently taught a workshop with Holbrook Elementary as well as several art projects at the Museum itself.
She has taught at Wharton Jr. College, West University Park and Recreation, Houston Civic Art Association, Hobby Lobby, Saint Teresa’s Catholic School, Bersford Montessori School, Sugar Land Home Schooled Students.

She was engaged as Artistic Concept Consultant by Houston Museum of Fine Arts and the City of Houston to design a Spark Park for Petersen elementary school. Her efforts were recognized with the “2003 Keep Houston Beautiful Mayor’s Proud Partner Award.
