About

Hi Everyone, I'd like to Welcome you to Judies Jems. Its a miracle that I even have this shop here on Etsy. Mine was a long journey starting out with being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 14 years ago. Its overactive nerves that cause Chronic widespread pain 24/7. This news was devastating to me. I had always worked but now couldn't. I was in a very bad place and lost my sense of purpose even my desire to live. I needed to find something I could do for doing nothing was unacceptable to me. One day my Mother told me I was always very creative as a child. She reminded me that I went to camp every summer and loved doing arts&crafts. Some of you might remember gimp? A form of plastic string that came in an array of bright beautiful colors. The councilors had taught me how to weave ropes/chains and key chains. I loved every minute of it. I had forgotten all about this. That is when I discovered jewelry. It was like a lifeline that I literally grabbed onto for the only thing that didn't hurt on my body were my hands! I taught myself old school and got every book I could find. I always say making jewelry saved my life. It gave me a sense of purpose back that I desperately needed. In some crazy way being diagnosed with Fibro was a good thing for I finally found what I was good at. I also found out just how tough I am and that was a good thing to. My twin Aunts have since been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia so we know it runs in the family. Creativity runs on both sides of my family so I'm very lucky . Back to jewelry! I make all types. I LOVE all beads and put a lot of love into every piece I make. To be so passionate about something is Awesome!! I hope you love my creations as much as I do. I can only do this as a hobby but take it very seriously. The simple fact that my shop has now been opened 6 years this past September is Amazing!!! Its truly a miracle for me!! I Thank all of YOU for your continued support for its you who make it all possible! I LOVE you all!! Sincerely, Judie :)
