About

Hi!
Welcome to my personal art gallery. I'm so pleased that you stopped by.
I see from your expression that me being in a wheelchair surprises you. No problem. Kids ask me questions all the time. At 18 months old, I suffered and survived polio. I was lucky...I went from an iron lung, had nine surgeries and endless hours of physical therapy, and am able to enjoy life and all it's splendors by using wheels to get around. Giving kids a ride on my lap is especially fun.
Because of my life style, art has become my best friend. It's the one thing in life I can control and gives me balance. It takes me to a fantasy world ... a place I hope you travel to while looking at my paintings.

Before I moved to the North West, I lived in Southern California. My use of bright colors comes from my love of Mexican Folk Art. The dramatic contrast of my detailed black and white pen and ink drawings conveys how everything is connected in life. My style is more Emotionalism than camera-likeness...Post Impressionism being my favorite genre. Two of my works of art were on display at the Linn-Benton Historical Museum...Camp Adair, and Mary's Peak Wilderness.
I have a Master's degree in art and have taught in the Oregon public school system...all ages. I've participated in many art festivals and especially enjoy watching people's expressions as they explore my paintings. I have original paintings and prints hanging in homes scattered throughout the U.S., as well as in England and Drum Castle in Scotland.
Thanks for stopping by. I'm always adding new art work. Please come again soon.
