About

Hi and Welcome to the Whimsical, imaginary, and off-the-beaten path World of Kandi Philipp, mixed media Artist. I am a native of Annville Pennsylvania, residing in Norfolk Virginia.
My biggest influence in the World of Art was my grade school ART teacher Mrs.Jane Barker.
She always allowed her students to use their imagination. She made art fun! Not too much technical structure allowing the student to be a FREE spirit—I love that!
When I was four, I had a vintage Lucite purse loaded with crayons, paste, scissors, and a box piled full with paper. I was always sitting and humming, losing the world around me and, as I began to create, stepped into my creations letting my imagination soar! I love the smell of a freshly sharpened bouquet of #2 pencils, I love paper, and I am always scrounging around places looking for castaway trinkets to incorporate into my work. I like to use everyday objects transforming them into functional art.
I enjoy Altered Art—it allows me to use several media. Some pieces are just for FuN, others do have personal meaning, or a general message. Hope some make you smile or spark your imagination….
Your opinion about my work is appreciated, if you care to leave a comment. Thanks for your interest!
I was the eclectic proprietor of two Vintage Clothing Shops:
“The Clothing Cottage” in Annville PA (1980s)
“The Crow’s Nest” Smyrna GA (1990s)
I experienced Hawaii on the Island of Oahu for three years where I had FuN Yard Sales that everybody loved! I now live by the Bay in Norfolk Va. And twice a year, I have yard sales. Not your ordinary yard sale! I have all things Vintage, Shabby Chic, Cottage style treasures. Refined Junk, fashion, jewelry, Art, household goodies and so much more!
I send out a flyer to all my faithful yard sale customers announcing the grand event. I love rescuing items of the past.
I love animals, nature, and music.
With Warm Regards,
Kandi
