My medium is glass and with it I want to evoke for others the sense of peacefulness I feel when making. To achieve this I use glass and metals to create a sense of stillness and quiet much like the going out into the world late at night after a fresh snowfall. I use glass in a very delicate manner to create a weightlessness/lightness. The techniques employed to achieve these effects are pate de verre and fusing and slumping. I join many of the glass pieces with forged steel that has been patinated and use both metal and stone bases to allow pieces series to grow freely up and upward.
