When Keelin Brett was a girl, she would look through her mother’s jewelry box and memorize the story behind each bracelet, earring, and necklace. There were pieces from her great-grandmother, jewelry from travels, and bracelets made on the days she and her brother were born. By that age, Keelin appreciated how jewelry can make a person feel beautiful, while connecting them to a past experience at the same time. As she got older, she began to create pieces of jewelry as a hobby, but soon had people asking for commissioned pieces.

In 2007, she graduated from Simmons College, Boston Massachusetts with a double major in Political Science and Studio Art. After college she went to Japan to study Japanese and teach English for several years. While there Keelin was asked to teach a jewelry making class in the Tokyo area and it was then she realized she wanted to be a jewelry designer.

When she returned home she attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City in 2013. It was there Keelin expanded her techniques and skills in Fine and Fashion Jewelry.

Now, Keelin Brett has her own jewelry line and is doing what she loves. She has had her pieces displayed at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City, received various awards in her bead embroidered work, and recognized by Presiosa Crystal and Accessories Magazine in their “Ice” competition.
