About

I have always been an artist. It all started with a love of crayons, a passion for paint and clay and now an addiction to beads.:o) I am so thankful I was able to study art at the University of North Texas and also took some classes at Collin County Community College. It opened my eyes and taught me how to really see. There is inspiration everywhere.

I started making jewelry when a telephone installer left some colored wire at my house when I was about 8 years old. I made all kinds of things with that wire. I got into polymer clay and created my stress dolls at the age of twelve. While I was in college my mother gave me some of her old beads, and I could not stop making jewelry. When I attend gem & jewelry shows, my heart rate goes up, and I get so excited. I just love all the colors and textures. I am a color addict. I can't get enough of it...like air or chocolate…

Right after my first child was born I was asked to teach art lessons at the Creative Arts Center in Bonham, Texas where I was a juried artist and had some of my paintings on display. I wore my daughter in the "snugli" on occasion while teaching. It was a blast.

We moved back to my home town of McKinney, Texas while I was expecting my second child. I started my company, Bada Bling, in February 2005 after he was born. I love to paint but it is something I couldn't just leave and pick up where I left off when babies needed me. Jewelry making allowed me to do that, and I have loved doing craft shows, jewelry parties and fundraisers. I love to help someone feel confident and beautiful with my jewelry. It is amazing how jewelry can lift your spirits, brighten your face, complete an outfit, make a statement, be a reminder of someone you love and so much more!

I have tried so many different mediums. Some of my greatest artistic achievements have been because I say, "I can do that!". A "can do attitude" and Practice, Practice, Practice is a big part of it. I still paint whenever I can and love cool vintage finds so you will find them sprinkled throughout my shop.

Art is an adventure for me. Thanks for looking!
