I moved from California to Kentucky in 2004. I am a self taught seamstress and I enjoy working with fabric, especially 100 per cent cotton print fabrics. Mixing various prints and colors to make a quilt or patchwork craft item is interesting and fun. At one time I was the owner of a small fabric shop and learned a lot about quilting, etc. from the teachers I hired. Not being able to compete with the "big stores", I returned to education and was a high school band director before becoming a high school counselor. I retired after 15 years of counseling my favorite age of students - teenagers.
I am a proud Grandma of Daniel, Matthew, and Allison.
Since I retired I am finally getting to do some of the things I've wanted to do. Sewing, crafting, making quilt tops and blocks, fishing in our pond, etc. I would love to be playing my trombone, mandolin, and keyboard, but arthritis is slowing me down. I still have hope of…

I am blessed to have "met" some really nice people through my presence on Etsy. They are an inspiration to me to keep dealing with the "ups and downs" of life. It would be great to meet these friends in person. Traveling to Washington, Nebraska, Georgia, Illinois, and Australia is an excellent goal. Don't you agree???
