About

I am a full-time working mom with two jobs outside of my etsy shop. I love being crafty! So, I thought I would put my hobby to use and sell the things I love so dearly to make.

I started sewing at a very young age sitting at my grandmother's feet as she sewed. The first thing I can recall ever making completely on my own was a hair scrunchy. It was awful but then again, I was 6. I wore it so proudly. I even still have it. From there, I was hooked. I started going to craft shows with my grandmother, mother and aunts who love crafting as well.

I learned to love quilting and at the age of 14 i ventured on my own and decided I was going to make my very own quilt. My grandmother used to make what she called crazy quilts.

They were made from random pieces of knit scraps zig zagged onto a ripped square of old sheets, then quilted together. I was set. I gathered up my scraps and set out to make what I thought was going to be the most gorgeous quilt the world would ever see. I was determined to do this on my own with no help from anyone. So there I went! I still have this quilt. Its oh so warm and comfy on a cold winter night but keep the lights off because you wont be able to stand looking at it. It was hideous. The rows are abnormally uneven and none of the colors match. To this day, I'm very proud of my 14 year old self for started me on a journey that would lead me to here.

Flea markets, craft stores and thrift stores are my favorite places to be. I love searching for and finding that perfect piece of material or little goody that's going to make my next project oh so wonderful!

I started Kickin It Kutie by not being able to afford some of the things I was finding at shows and local flea markets. My daughter would beg and plea for some things that I just couldn't afford. The best I could do was make it myself and then I never stopped!

I hope you enjoy what my shop has to offer and know that I truly put love and dedication into each project I start. Happy shopping!
