About

Growing up with a teacher, the love of reading was instilled in me at a young age. I love browsing thru vintage cookbooks and laughing at the recipes, some of them just sound terrible, but people really made them! I also love reading vintage books dealing with my professional industry, see how far things have come in the 50 years of the space program!

My love affair with all things vintage began when I was 12. I was lucky enough to be sent to Space Camp and fell in love with the thought of travelling to the moon and beyond. I began coveting anything to do with the early space programs, all dating back to the 1960s. I loved the movie Now and Then, set in the summer of 1970, and I listened to the Beatles nonstop. ("Imagine" is playing now as I type!)

Growing up with a teacher, the love of reading was instilled in me at a young age.

I remember as a kid, my mom always had many different sets of dishes. She'd pull out a new one on a rainy day and serve lunch to my sister and I. It always made things fun and interesting. It has now become a small passion for us all. My mom, sister and I are always looking for interesting dishes!

As I grew up and matured, so did my likes and dislikes. I'm still in love with early space memorabilia (I even worked for a NASA contractor for a while, sending 18 crews of astronauts to the International Space Station!) and I obviously still listen to the Beatles.

I began an interest in vintage clothing when popular media deemed up-to-there hemlines the new trend. When I really started looking, I found so many incredible silhouettes that make the woman's body look stunning. Even mine, and I'm not your tiny, typical vintage housewife! My favorite thing to find is a handmade vintage item. I recently found a pair of jeans from the 60s that had been hand embroidered with the girl's highschool name and mascot, her crushes and a patch with her name, Jill. I treasure them!

I recently found a community of like-minded people who value originality and have a passion for vintage and handmade items. I now have a studio there with my best friend selling vintage dishes that have been transformed into new treasure: clocks, pedestals, bird feeders...

I live in the South now, but growing up in the Mid-West my parents were always going to auctions. They have a house full of beautiful antiques and love digging through the boxes for that hidded treasure, I guess that's where I get it!

Once, my mom purchased a set of plain white sheets and when we got home and unwrapped them to wash them, there was a $100 bill packaged inside! You just never know what you'll find.

My sister works for a vintage-inspired online clothing company too, I guess it runs in the family.

My little house is my haven, full of my 4 kitties, 1 huge puppy, my guy, all our stuff and a whole room devoted just to items for sale! Please browse around and ask me any questions you may have!!
