I start by hand-knitting my original designs and through a process called "fulling", shrink the wool to the desired dimensions and cause the stitch definition to disappear giving me the density, thickness and sturdiness that I'm looking for. I let the piece dry completely for 2 to 3 days having a varied amount of pieces in some part of the process, either on the needles, drying, ready for artwork or finishing.
When completely dry it is ready for needle-felting. Needle-felting is a process whereby I take a barbed needle and "push" wool fiber into the "fulled" piece creating a picture.
