Born and raised in Ohio, I received my BFA from the University of Cincinnati, and continued on to study as a Post-Baccalaureate at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, and Virginia Commonwealth University, where I earned my MFA. Fueled by an insatiable curiosity, I've traveled and lived all over the country, living and working on artist residencies in Vermont, Virginia, New Mexico, Nebraska, Wyoming, and California. Random pursuits include a short stint as a horse camping (glamping) trail chef in the Absaroka Mountains of Wyoming. I've finally settled in Philadelphia, where I paint, teach art and live with my husband and a dog named Sunny.
In my creative efforts I'm primarily a painter.....but have a compulsion to make everything. I'm often veering off my painting path to try to learn how to make something new, usually inspired by necessity, a great texture, color or what have you. My hands need to be busy or…
