About

I began my crocheting adventures years ago in college when I was poor and wanted to still give meaningful gifts. Once my entire family was overflowing with scarves, I took a break and went back to my first craft love: scrapbooking. Soon after graduating college I lost my precious scrapbooking space and went several months without any crafting. Then the itch developed and I had to start crafting again! Picking up my long neglected hook and some cotton yarn I began making dish cloths as I already had to many scarves.

Then I stumbled across a pattern for making crochet cupcakes and slowly began down the path of amigurumi.

Soon I began getting requests for animals instead of cute, but inedible, baked goods from my internet friends on pet breeding simulation sites. After several years and many happy smiles Koda's Crochet Critters was born!

I have developed my patterns over the years, tweaking them until they're just right, and sometimes even beyond that. Incorporating realistic and fantasy elements into my critters, making them entirely unique. Each ear, horn, muzzle, wing and tail is sewn on securely so they can be played with and not just ornamental pieces.

In wanting people to have as much fun and enjoyment as I do when crafting each critter I did my best to be able to offer full customization. My patterns are interchangeable, allowing hybrid and chimera critters, or just adding a fantasy element with the addition of wings. I also started to hand paint all of the safety eyes, offering 16 colors in two different pupil styles so each critter could be extra special and unique.
